  • Hide your guns in plain veiw. Zombies won't find them.

No need to invest $1000 for a gun safe, only if you have a few guns. Plus, I like to have my weapons ready at all times. Sure, I sleep with my Kimber 45 under my pillow, but when you are away from your home, you want to keep your guns safe and hidden. You paid alot of money for your guns. I have heard stories of stolen gun safes. You live out in the boonies , the crooks sometimes have alot of time, being in your home. I have a bunch of secert hiding spots, but I'd like to share one with you on the down low. Say, you have a shotgun or rifle. What, I do........is, behind you curtains, say in your bedroom, I have a hook in the wall and hang my sling on it. You cant tell there is a shotgun hanging behind the curtains. If the zombies come in, they will be looking for things in the line of sight, whatever they can steal in a short period of time. Food for thought! Another good place, is if you have a big headboard on your bed. You can put a hook on the backside of it, for you shotgun or rifle. One of the reasons, I am telling you guys this, is , I don't want anyone to be a victim of crime. Don't sleep with a shotgun or rifle leaning against your wall, bed or in plain site that the intruders could get their hands on and use against you. This happened to me, when I was 12 years old. We lived in a small town in southern Ohio, and my dad was gone on business. Two guys broke in our house when we were sleeping. The guys were at my mom's bedside for a min., bofore she woke up. They took her purse in her room, and it was found in my room, next to my bed! They were in there for awhile before my mom woke up. I heard my mom scream! Next thing I know, is she gave me a hair dryer! I thought to myself, what the hell am I going to do with this? We had no phone at the time, so she told me to run the the neighbors house for help. When I knocked on the door, he already had a gun in his hand. I guess he saw that these guys were messing around his dad's house which was nextdoor to him, that's why he had his gun out. As I was standing on his porch, we heard this car pleeling out coming toward his house on the conrner. He ran out at the same time as the car stopped an the stop sign to make the corner turn and pulled the gun on them, and said I dare you to move! , by that time one of the other neighbors came out with his gun! And the got the S.O.B.S.! I was 12 when this happened, it messed with my head. But I learned alot from this, knowing what to do and what not to do. If mom had a gun in plain site, who knows what the outcome could have been. Sorry for going on and on, but I hope this story could help someone down the road.

In the part of the country we live in it's a given that almost every house has firearms inside. We also have dogs inside, so the burgler rattles our door, hears the dogs, and goes next door.
That, plus the wife is a stay at home farmer who usually has her 38 snub nose in her pocket.:)
