Havent had a chance to do any low light shooting with it yet, but everything I've seen indicates that it does well. What shooting I have done with it, I've been very happy.

the only issue i see with the manitcore is they seem hard to get. did some night shooting last friday night and with the stock 74 brake there is alot of flash. brown bear ammo was the worst of the 3 ammo types we were firing. huge i mean HUGE white ball of flame so bright it was like a strobe light.

i did some shooting with the m1a and there was virtually no flash with the standard flash supressor. cnc warrior makes a FS similar to the m1as. i think i'm going to try it out.

Finally got both of them dialed in and zeroed good. Reliability for both has been perfect through a few hundred rounds each. Only issue I have found so far is, the astigmatism I have in my right eye, does not get along well with the iron sights of an AK. I could/can still do pretty decent with irons on an AR, but these are really giving me a run for my money. May swap out the stock rear sight for a Krebs peep sight and give that a try. Just one more reason I love a red dot sight. Just dont have the same eyesight I did 20 years ago. That said, I can still do decent groups at 100 with it.
One note, just in case someone else finds this to be an issue. I noticed after my range trip last week, that AK#1 with the Manticore NightShroud flash suppressor on it, shot significantly better than #2 with the factory 74 style brake. After discussing this with a friend, a light bulb came on. I tried to tighten the brake down some so as to eliminate the slight wobble and looseness that it had. The Manticore FS on #1 was a lot tighter, but still a little loose. I could not get the brake tightened, but I did get the Manticore 100% snugged down. I picked up a second Manticore for #2, and got it snugged down as well. I then fine tuned the zero on #2 today, but with a bare muzzle. Big difference in shot consistency. I then reattached the Manticore, and the zero did not change, nor did the group size. Both weapons are now shooting some pretty respectable groups, especially for AK's. The slight loose fit of the factory brake, and even the flash suppressor, was simply playing havoc with both the barrel harmonics, and the bullet trajectory as it passed through the brake and the gasses we not being pulled off evenly and consistently from shot to shot. Big improvement now.

Running through some mental fundamentals with #2.

How's your paint job holding up with all the shooting so far? How often do you have to reapply?

Its doing good. Held up fine on my AR's for years. Dont see why it should be any different on the AK's. I never re-applied any to my AR's. It wears on the high point of course, but thats about it.

I don't have problems with AR's Here's a hundred rounds with 1 FTF (but that was the primer not the gun and it clears fine)

I've never had any issues with any of my AR's. I've personally seen hundreds of them used in training, competitions, and the military. We just made this switch for some specific reasons. I still love the AR platform and would use it without hesitation.
