  • Different body armor

Little bit different body armor, could negate or disrupt the effectivness of the 4th shot in the body armor drill on hostiles and does offer protection for the femoral artery for the wearer.

Interesting but I think I will just stay with my level 3 Paca. After 6 months its finally comfortable.

I think it has the potential to be a great product.

Think about it. I would rather take a bullet to the head than a bullet to the balls. If someone shot off my pecker, I would rather be dead.

On the other hand, all body armor can slow you down. Especially if you are a long range shooter, and you are relying on stealth. I doubt you would want a ballistic diaper wrapped around your *ss while you were crawling through the forest.

I still think it could be a valuable product for CQC and needs testing and further evaluation. Who will be the first brave soul to buy it and try it? I'll supply the bullets.

It is mainly designed for bombs however I suspect we won't have to wait long for a "test" thanks to an American Soldier who will take one for the team. Man I'm glad I'm retired whew
I sent it for a 2 fold reason.
1 for IDing a new body armor if it helps someones cause in their daily plan
2 so that if you shoot someone in the pelvic area or stab someone in the femoral artery while in a compromised position it will be in your head as to why they didnt drop/stop and have a plan b or c already established to work thru the OODA loop quicker in you mind.
I think I'd still have to pass on the offer even if you paid for it!!! Call me a big baby

Long ago and far away we were not quite as high tech. We would line the floorboards of our trucks and jeeps with sandbags, then sit on our flak jackets. At 18 years of age some body parts are more important than others. And anyway, Vietnam era flak jackets would not even slow a bullet down.

Good try, you have never been hit in a plate nor have worn it or you would know. Keep trying to sell cats

The biggest problem with ANY body armor designed are two factors:

                      Weight

                      Comfort

The Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) was an awesome system when it came out. Far, far, far better than the Ranger Body Armor in the fact it was lighter, wore better and could be adapted to carrying MOLLE gear. However, someone along the way decided it wasn't "safe" enough and started adding on other crap. And in doing so, upped the weight. So suddenly a twenty pound vest that wasn't entirely comfortable but managable to wear got closer to thirty five pounds by adding on the DAPS, throat protector, side SAPI, groin protector (which flops around and is quite useless unless strapped in), and thigh protectors. So the weight went straight to HOLY CRAP WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!?!?!?!? Kind of like the scene in Spaceballs where they are going from normal to ludacris speed. That's the look on the face of the first time someone wears all that extra crap. It's protective sure, but suddenly got idiotic since the designers never wear the stuff. I'd like to see them put that crap on and hump a few hills in the 'Stan for a few weeks...back to the drawing board we go. So anyway, add in body armor, ammunition, water, weapon, spare MG ammo carried by almost everyone, other odds and ends like NVGs, IFAKs, etc and you get closer to 70-80 pounds of carried gear before even starting to think of strapping on a pack. So weight is comfort, but when is too much too much?

While the idea of a groin protector underwear set is nice in theory, in practice and in combat? Probably not so much. Comfort..."sorry Sarge, got to adjust my cup right quick! I know we're under fire and all, but it's pinching the twins and I can't move!"

And the folks that design such things? Have them wear it for an extended period of time along with the rest of the crap worn by real life soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines in dismounted combat conditions before regaling the world with how great it actually is.
Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

It was actually only designed for folks going out on the convoys to help with the roadside bombs. I'm not sure if I would wear it or not because of the dismount as stated.
I sure agree with your last paragraph though!!!
