    Just finished maxs book.
Overall not bad. Got it on my kindle . Few typos etc but nothing crazy.
The book is your typical as of late shtf /reddawn type story line. That we've seen flood in since "prepper" turned cool.
That's the only negative. I read his Contact manual. This was basically a story version of it. It helped tie in some things he goes over in Contact. I think it woulda been better to read it first ...but that now will make me re read contact. More info to soak up and learn from.
If you haven't read it yet do so. Price wasn't bad. I'd rather have hard copies but I guess I'm going technology crazy...lol

Must have imho. Hope he continues the story.

I give it 4 outta 5 AKs ....😁. Great read.

Agreed. I recently read Patriot Dawn during some down-time. I would like to see some more fiction from Max.

I enjoyed the read for sure. I wouldst rather read this 1st before contact to get the whole
"Ohhhh that's what he meant " deal going. Which is why ill prolly prepper read contact ....again...LOL

My only beef with this style (not with Max's) is the over load of technical data or info /details to the story. Example -
Timmy grabbed his m4...and lifted the 28 lbs of chest rig on...the 1000d coroda feeling like sand paper on his bare arms...each 30 rd p-mag full of green tip NATO 5.556...the armor a pe coated hybrid gave him an edge of those with plain ar500 steel plates not only in weight but protection from other
      AP rounds....

See ..that's mild...but do I as a reader need to know that much ...

As the 5.56 match grade boat tail ripped through his shoulder at 3200 feet per second shattering through bone........

Its good but some writers over do it. Dawn wasn't to over board on it...and I think its mostly done as like others (rawles) to show a list or push a point.

Just my rant about the genre not "patriot dawn ".....

I don't finish a lot of these fiction stories because of that kind of stuff. I finished Patriot Dawn and can't wait for the sequel- Patriot Afternoon ;)

The old Ahern books were the worst of that type your talking about. I was excited 25 years ago to find "The Survivalist" series by Ahern but that excited quickly died out due to sections like this-

"Rourke cross gripped the twin Detonics .45's he kept in matching shoulder holsters. The twin stainless Detonics began to deal death in the form of a 185 grain Jacketed Hollow Point round in 45 advanced colt pistol caliber. The jacketed hollow points sped death at 1,300 feet per second. The two looters both died after being hit in the thumb with the .45 round. Rourke caressed the stainless Detonics with the pearl handled grips and said "Just like General Patton" as he munched on his cigar end. Rourke was in love with the stainless Detonics and the custom leather twin shoulder holsters made specifically for bad asses like him by Bianchi. Rourke reloaded each Detonics while never letting one out of his hand...."
