I love titles like this... Cause normally it indicates the book IS B.S. LOL
By "Abigail Adams" this 220 page book is chock full of lists, "worksheets" and various filler material. Along with that comes a multitude of quality info like in the "building a go bag" chapter on page 185-
"It's truly amazing how complex such a backpack can be with zippers, pockets, clips, rain protection, perfect balance, padding and fit issues, all of which are critical for long treks in the woods, but are not necessary for a go bag."
Next paragraph has more gems-
"Your go bag should have a place to hook a water bottle....."
Yes, nothing like crap FLOPPING AROUND ON THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR PACK, getting hung up on brush, making noise when it flops, etc.
She sums up this idiocy with the statement -
"I got mine at Walmart..."
OK, sums that up. Bet it's new and shiny too... LOL
Anyone with a little experience can read her book and realize very quickly she- LIKE MOST NEW PREPAREDNESS BOOK AUTHORS- has little actual experience with these things. This is confirmed on page 202 when she talks about what she started out to do "nearly two years ago..."
Really? You just got into this 2 years ago and you felt the need to write a BOOK? I'm sorry but that's almost criminal in my mind. Your food storage hasn't barely had time to accumulate dust on it, don't play expert and write a book, you WILL give people the wrong idea.
Overall, the book is a very low "C". MAY may be helpful to someone new but I'm not sure. There just is no depth on any certain subject.
Trying hard to think of something positive, I'd have to say that she's big on hiding stuff. Gets a little freaky actually considering she spends pretty much NO TIME on defensive preps but talks a lot about hiding things from the bad men who may ransack your house looking for food.
If you buy it, try to find it used or for under $10.
