    Part 28

It had been an exciting couple of days, and would prove to be an exciting night.

Jim wasn't 100% behind the plan, but it was discussed, it made sense and overwhelmingly everyone was for it.

They would hit Gomez this same night Lyle returned with the snatched prisoners. It would prove to be a long night.

Bill and Jim interrogated them and found out that their was just six guys left in the house and a similar number of women. They were living it up tonight. Miguel proved to not like pain and willingly gave them the information without too much coercion. If anything, the woman was more reluctant to talk than Miguel.

Miguel's discussion included a lot of what Jim termed "deal making" type talk.

"The dumb$hit doesn't realize he's in no place to deal" Bill said to Jim privately.

"Well let's let him think that for now, he might reveal more. Tell him about Jonas and how we spared his life when he cooperated. I'll bring Jonas in for a few minutes and have him tell his story to him." Jim said.

"You think that's a good idea?" Bill asked.

"More than anything this guy wants to live, if he realizes we spared someone else that helped us, I think he'll sing like a canary. It's a bit of a gamble." Jim replied.

And it seemed to work. Miguel had given them numbers, armaments, etc. He claimed they had no fixed defenses. Jim thought he was lying when it came to that.

"My Father was a guerrilla, he doesn't like to be tied down." Miguel said.

"Your Father was a guerrilla, what do you mean?" Jim had asked.

Miguel explained of his father's involvement in the 1980's civil war in Nicaragua.

Bill and Jim discussed this and figured that made DeJesus roughly in his 50's.

With Lyle's description of the Gomez safe house, the information about the lack of fighting positions was either true or the positions were concealed very well.

"We won't gamble on their not being any reinforced positions. We will just go on the assumption that their is some that we don't know about. The house itself is reinforced in a couple places with sandbags they stole from DOT projects. I think we will have Rusty concentrate the fire from the .50 on those places marked here" Jim pointed to a sketch Lyle had provided of the house. Our fallback plan if the assault starts going bad or if the red aerial flare is launched is to concentrate fire on the house while Ron and Chuck throw molotovs. Then we hold our positions and let it burn." Jim said as he briefed the others after the interrogation.

Steve cut in "Jim and I are both carrying the flares. He's given me the leeway to "call it" also if I think it's time to go to Plan B. I think this will work really well if they are partying and wasted out of their mind. I think the Lord gave us an opportunity here and we need to take it."

Jim said "most importantly. Let's all bow our heads in a word of prayer. Gracious and most merciful Heavenly Father. We come before you tonight seeking your protection. Father we feel our cause is just and this Gomez group has proven itself to be a danger and threat to the people in this area. We ask that you bless our raiding party tonight Lord, watch over each and every person tonight. Gracious Lord if any of them do not know you as their Lord, Savior and Master, I ask that you touch their hearts before we go on this mission and that not a man or woman leave that isn't right with you. We praise You, bless You and honor You, in the wonderful name of Jesus. Amen."

Their was a reply of "amens" from around the room.

"Any last minute questions?" Jim asked.

    Their was none.

"Is everyone crystal clear on who their partner is, that they are not supposed to leave their partner, the rally point if the raid goes bad and the fallback plan?" Jim asked.

    Heads nodded around the room.

"OK, everyone finish any last minute gear issues, we'll check gear in 15 minutes. Chuck and Ben please stay for a minute." Jim said.

The crowd broke up and Chuck and Ben remained.

"I'd like you two to act as a stay behind when the raid is finished up. Stay for two days and leave the second night after we attack. If something comes up that you can handle, your free to handle it yourself. If not, radio us and keep watch on them. Their might be more of these Gomez guys out raiding someplace or something and we might not catch them all at once." Jim said.
