It started in a little town in New Hampshire, me and my family went out to eat and experienced extreme wind and rain on the way home. So we came home to see a tree...maybe 2-4 feet in diameter fallen in our normal parking spot, how damn lucky we were. I said " Holy **** the lines cut, everybody stop" my brother said "**** the power is out isn't it..." "Yep" So we were with out running water and lights, luckily we found some apples and ate a small dinner, sleep was bad, we heard animals outside fighting. My brother, being the macho man of the house picked up his Bushmaster M4 A3 carbine put a round in the chamber walked onto the porch and fired a shot into the grass. all the sudden maybe 4-12 rodents ran like hell into the other direction. phone was down and the cell phone got no reception, the roads were impassable by now. So we decided to wait until some one came to help. things changed so quickly we couldn't really make educated decisions about anything any more, we didn't have ANY water except for the occasional full cup of rain water. we were stuck in the house for 5 days before help came and cleared the drive way, restored power etc. I had picked about 20 blueberries in our field and maybe 40-50 raspberries which was a nice treat, i picked some fiddle heads as well, it got pretty cold at night. on the 4th day we started seeing police patrols and clean up crews which was a relief, the only thing we had to do was wait with our guns and small talk, maybe a little bit of reading...it wasn't really an EMERGENCY situation but I still find it to be some what challenging.
