Part 14
The meeting went on for quite a while. Group dynamics, that the food situation was getting bad, what further defensive preps needed to be done, etc. Jim had a way of talking too long but in this case, it served it's purpose.
Donnie who was acting cagey and paranoid upon entering the house, was a lot more calm 30 minutes into it.
Todd was sitting near Donnie, but Todd had no idea about what was going to take place.
"Now we have the problem of a traitor in our midst." Jim said, the room instantly falling quiet.
Steve and Lyle came out of no where with loaded pistols drawn. Steve gave Jim a quick nod. No one in the room moved thinking most likely this was a joke.
Lyle walked over and removed the pistol from Donnie holster.
"Dude what the hell are you doing? Is this some joke?" Donnie said. Donnie's wife sitting two over from him started fidgeting. She was quickly searched for weapons and none were found.
Jim noticed that her eyes kept darting between Donnie's and Todd's. Why would she look at Todd?
Todd sat still looking straight forward. Jim made a mental note of this.
Donnie was also quickly searched and handcuffed. In addition he was kept "covered" by two of them.
"Alright folks, sorry for the big drama here, everyone sit tight and we are going to get this all explained. I'll be right back." Jim said.
Jim walked in pushing Jonas ahead of him.
"This is my friend Jonas. Him and I met unexpectedly a few nights back on my way from the Hansen OP. I'd like you all to hear Jonas tell his story." Jim said.
Jonas was staring intently at Donnie as he began talking. "My name is Jonas. A friend of mine Frank, myself and Donnie and his wife traveled up here a few weeks ago. Donnie told us that he was a part of your group a long time ago and knew all about your layout, SOP's, etc...."
Donnie cut him off "What the hell is this guy talking about! I've never seen him before in my life!"
Jim pointed the Glock at him- "shut up! We are going to hear him out."
Jonas looked intimidated. Jim said to him "come on continue."
Jonas went on. "Donnie told us that their would only be 2 or 3 of you and that he would go in ahead of us, do a recon, contact us and then when the time was right, we would take over the place."
"DUDE! THIS IS SUCH A LOAD OF CRAP! I..." Donnie said.
"Gag him. I warned you to shut the hell up" Jim finished as Lyle stepped forward and gagged him.
Donnie's wife was moving again. "Cuff her, we can't take any chances." Jim said and she was quickly cuffed also.
"Continue" Jim said once again to Jonas.
"Now I'm not sure if Donnie's wife really knew about this or not, he glanced over at her and she shot him a cold look. "But that was the plan Donnie came up with. We were supposed to stay back a bit from your place and watch for him to make contact. We could never get too close. Every time we did the dogs were running down that way and 2 or 3 guys would leapfrog down that way armed. Frank noticed a couple of trip flares, so we didn't try going back. But we did try to radio him a couple times." Jonas said.
"Jonas, please tell us everything you know about Donnie." Jim asked.
"His full name is Donnie Casmith, he lives in Middleburg in a yellow house on Elm street. Normally he drives an old Chevy pick up truck."
Todd jumped in, "That's all I need to hear, let's kill this sonova.... " as he chambered his pistol and began to point it at Donnie.
Jim stopped him. "No! Holster your gun! All the evidence is going to be given first." Todd holstered his gun but looked just a bit nervous.
"Scotty, please tell us about the short radio communications you have intercepted over the last couple of weeks." Jim asked.
Scotty stood up and pulled a small notebook out. "On a daily basis, around the same time the following message was broadcast on FRS quote "GhostMan this is Little Man. We are in position and awaiting orders. Please respond unquote. The message varied a little bit each day, but the general idea was the same. I would like to add that from the first day he arrived Donnie was asking me a lot of questions regarding our comm setup, what we are monitoring, etc. Jim said this all was "need to know" type stuff and as you know, we don't share those sorts of things with newcomers." Scotty finished.
"Has anyone else witnessed any suspicious activities regarding Donnie?" Jim asked.
Their was silence for a moment and then Bill said "you know come to think of it, he was always asking me about security stuff, which is odd cause I'm in medical. It was like he was trying to correlate things he had heard from others."
Todd looked nervous, then spoke up. "Seriously dude, why the hell are we even discussing this? Their is just one thing to do with a traitor."
The group sat quiet, the implication was obvious.
"OK, Todd and Steve, take Donnie outside in view of OP1 and secure him to one of those poles the solar panels are mounted to," Jim said.
"With pleasure" was all Todd said as he led Donnie away with Steve trailing behind.
Donnie muffled a few words from under the gag.
