Chapter 14
After sending his nephew to inform the others in his group about the new addition to the crew, Tom and Gray moved from house to house searching for food and other useful items. When they located such items they, if the amount was small enough, stacked the stuff out on the sidewalk in front of the house to be collected by the truck as it moved slowly through the area. If they got lucky and located a sizable stash of anything Tom considered valuable, they would mark the front of the house with a can of spray paint in a similar fashion to that used by FEMA and local searchers in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina.
