I enjoy reading the "fiction" simply for the enjoyment. Some like movies, others like PAW fiction, it's all good. Now don't get me wrong, they are not 12 step preparedness manuals, and are not intended to be. However, I always learn something useful that will apply, or sometimes I just go hmmm...

ALLTALK- you need to get busy writing your own stories :)

Out of respect for this forum, I won't hotlink to other sites. But, If you want to read real accounts of what HAS HAPPENED already in other countries, read some from selco in Bosnia. That doesn't mean the US will follow the same path, but it is a real account from their perspective.
Welcome to Tennessee, patriot state of shootin' stuff.

Sorry Grand, I had no idea.

I just went to Amazon and saw that he had this story published. Since I am only a year into these type of boards I had no clue. I feel real crappy now, so I am asking for it as a stocking gift for christmas to support him for taking advantage of the free story when it was free. Thats the least I can do since I gave it to my brother to help with his awakening.

And sir, if you ever get yours out there like that, the check is already signed from my end.

And eeyore, I read the Bug Out and was like WOW! That seemed very real to me.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

I wish One Second After was required reading for all city mayors and councilmen, as well as first responders. My own son, a police officer, has finally seen the light and is now on board. Halleujah!

I just finished reading "Lights Out". I ordered it awhile back and after reading this thread decided I should start it, I am glad I did as I thought it was a good story. Some of it did seem unrealistic, as mentioned above, the ability they had to continue purchasing items, etc., but with that said, I still enjoyed it and felt it was helpful in getting an idea of what things could be like.

Thank you to those up thread for the other books you menetioned, I will have to look into those as well.

I didn't take the "connections" that they had for buying weapons, etc. as far-fetched at all. It made me think that THIS is the sort of friendships and relationships with others that you want to cultivate NOW, and build NOW, so that it is there if.... more likely when.... you'll need it later.

Hermits won't make it unless they're LOADED hermits, and saw the light early enough on to 'fully prepare' (if that is even a possible concept).
