  • Help to remember a story?

I read a story back a few years ago. I cant remember where I read it so maybe someone can help me remember.

It starts as a husband is going deer hunting with his older buddy (retired veteran). They did this every year. His wife is a prepper and he just barely goes along with her. He really dont see the need. There is rioting in town and him and his buddy goes to town to see. While they are gone, some hoodlums break into his kitchen and the wife kills them while she is shot too. She dies. Now he has to take care of his children and goes thru bad times and learns to appreciate his wifes efforts to prep.

Can anybody remember where and give me a link?

I don't know the name off the top of my head but I know it can be found through a link from http://survivalism.blogspot.com/2009...on-online.html

I was reading it the other day so I know it is still there. When I get home in the morning I will try to remember to look it up if you don't have a solid answer.
Man created shotguns because God created cats.

Man, those Muslims sure are worried about what they eat. I went over there and all I heard was Alohaaaaa Snack-bar.

          The Carpenter papers: Vol 1

Enjoy, and please remember to give credit to the author, he did a real good job with this one. If anyone knows of any other good stories out there I would like to know.

          thanks

As far as I know, only Vol. 1 from Freeholder was ever released. I really loved the story since my in-laws grew up in the locale of the story.

I have been hoping for Vol2 for a long time but it doesn't look like it is going to happen. The location for the story is 10 minutes from my house.
