I work in a medical laboratory and we have had a dramatic increase over the last month of dengue IgG/IgM testing. So far not too much for west nile, but any news story will bring a new batch.
On a side note, not long ago you needed to go see your Dr to have most lab tests done. Now there are places popping up that will offer almost any test you want as long as you pay for it. So folks without insurance can go check what they want.(My lab does not do this).
West Nile is real bad this year here. Dallas has declared a state of emergency and right now a coworkers wife is fighting for her life here where we have had an outbreak.
They say most folks never know they have it, a few experience flu like symtoms in summertime conditions and a small portion end up fighting for their lives.
I will be the first to admit that i just ignored the news but seriously if you are gonna be outside then spray down. It's the most simple way to combat it.

they have some info on it. If you are out and about, which I hope you are as we must continue to live and not crumple in fear as many fear mongers in the news would have, spray down, be smart, watch one another.
I didnt totally divuldge earlier but I am directly effected by a friend who one minute he and i were talking about hunting then he got a call about his wife. She has been out of it for a week, organs were shutting down, thats halted but the circulation has declined to a point that fingers and toes may be lost. All this from a skeeter bite, crazy stuff, dunno, hard to understand and a reminder of the fragility of life
