  • How to test my medications

Ok the penicillin thread got me thinking about how to test my meds to see if they are good or not. Like in "Patriots" they did the WHO approved "titer" test on the tetracyclene (sp).

I have searched the WHO site and google but can't find anything. Anyone have any ideas or was this just made up?

Tetracycline was one medication that could become toxic with age due to the base it was made with. The base formula has long been changed to avoid any toxicity. No need to test antibiotics these days for toxicity and no way to test for effectiveness other than taking the stuff and see if it still works. Good storage is the key for longevity. I vac-pack mine and keep in the freezer all the tablets and capsules that is. That way the expiration timing will begin when you take it out and defrost.
