  • Inflammation?

    So I've never had joint problems- well unless they were artificially induced :) so I'm not sure if what I'm experiencing is "inflammation" or not.

    The joint feels just a little "hot", no better way to describe it. Isn't hot to the touch, no swelling, etc. but just feels "hot'?

    Inflammation? My imagination? My body cooking in this heat? :)

    Hard to say...if there is no redness, pain, swelling, fever or actual external warmth, I would just watch it. If you want, it won't hurt to put a cold pack on it for 20 minutes. You didn't twist/injure it (even slightly) that you know of did you. Sometimes a mild strain/sprain will cause a "warm" sensation.

      You probably got a good idea how I got it :) Although I haven't been caught in a leg lock for a while. It's been "warm" like this off and on since that last Staff Meeting. I'm guessing it was something then or something in regular sessions that irritated it.

      I had never experienced "inflammation" so I assumed that's what it was. Sucks to get old.... :)

          I am old,and I left Special Ops because my chute did not work so I do hurt. Here are some things for inflamation;
          MegaRed-Omega- 3 krill oil- work well
          Fish Oil mix of 3/6/9. I have read that 6 causes inflamation.
          Glucosamine plus Chondroitin Sulfate- they work well together
          Turmeric Extract-herb for cooking- will stain your hands if you make your own capsules
          Vit. C-1000 to 4000 mg a day

            Thanks RR, I've been taking the Gluco and the Vitamin C, I'll check out some of the others. It's nothing that keeps me from doing my normal stuff, I've just wondered what it was.

              I had a heel spur and did several traditional treatments--didn't work. My second dr. told me to try Turmeric Force by New Chapter for a minimum of 6 weeks. The stuff changed my life. Now it's rare when my heel hurts. It also helps w/my other aches too. You can just eat the herb, but it's easier to take the capsule. I get mine here: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/NWC180/ItemDetail?n=0 If you look online, they might have a coupon for free shipping. This product is definitely in my teotwawki medicine kit.

                Lowdown - if it continues see a knee specialists. I hobbled around for a year with inflammation of my knee. When I'd finally had enough, I went to a doctor. I found out I actually had a torn meniscus! A short in and out arthroscopy fix it! It hasn't bothered me in over a year.

                  If you can get a hold of some Arnica ointment and apply that to the area a few times a day, it will help a lot with the discomfort you are experiencing.
