  • Old Medical Treatments

I recently went through my College Textbooks, I discovered a wealth of information for treatment of illness and injury WITHOUT the use of technology.

I loved it. In fact, I had forgotten that until the technology explosion of the 80's - hospitals were essential using very basic heart monitors and crude infusion pumps. In fact - only certain very potent drugs were given with a pump, and then you watched it like a hawk. We calculated out own drip rate the old fashion way - counted the drops and did the math.

I discovered all sorts of totally out of date information for todays world - but worth their weight in for for the PAW.

Regardless of how much medical training you have - you need to learn how to treat people without anything but your basic knowledge and a little imagination.

Try and search out those old medical textbooks - they contain a wealth of information.

What I learned and did in the seventies, they use machines for today. I'm glad I did it the "hard" way because if something happens I won't be missing the machine.

Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!

ATTENTION: No trees or animals were harmed in any way in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were really ticked off!

The books written for third world countries revert to this older tried & true stuff....I was lucky enough to get all of King's books on surgery, running a hospital, anesthesia, and lab work. A gold mine!!!
