A couple of days ago, I jammed an inch plus splinter into the palm of my palm. I should have been wearing gloves…hindsight. I got out my minor surgical kit and used the tools to remove the wood. While the kit was out, I cleaned the tools and I found one item that I was not familiar with. Ms Foster didn’t either. Ends up, it was a scalpel blade holder. A closer search revealed two blades in the kit. I had already put three disposable scalpels in the kit because I hadn’t familiarized myself with the kit. Gear is great if you know how to use it and what's in it.

okay, a good point to remember about the scalpel blade and the blade holder is to use hemostats to place blade into holder and to remove the blade from holder or you may find that the blade is VERY sharp and you will have a nice clean but deep incision on your hand...Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!
Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!

I have seen nurses assisting me in surgery not know how to insert blade....she didn't last long. From that point I always handled my own "sharps". I have also heard about people supposedly in the know, actually slice their hand open....Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!
