potatoes cut up today... will plant tomorrow!
a buddy told me tonight at a gathering to hurry and get them in the ground during the waning moon... as this was a root crop.
I've got to study up on my "moon phases."
I didn't want him to know I wasn't up to snuff on moon phases!!
sq ft gardening. good book ,,goes into growing stuff like that to save space etc.
old 55 gallon barrels could be used as well..
On growing potatoes vertically...as the plant grows (according to the article), you keep adding dirt. Would not the largest/oldest potatoes be at the bottom of the growing container? If they are in fact at the lower section, would you remove a lower board and dig out the mature potatoes while the later ones are still maturing?
