  • Master Mix

I have searched the board for the answer with no success.

Does anyone know of a Master Mix bread and pancake recipe that does not require adding the shortening? It will keep longer if the shortening is not added and I don't want to refrigerate it. I have the dried milk and eggs and all the other ingredients.

    I would try google :)

Sometimes, I like the convenience of having a master mix but I don't want all the chemicals and whatnot that are in commercial mixes. Plus...

I found this in 10 seconds with google

I did google. I did not find this site, but it appears that it requires shortening. If it requires shortening, it requires refrigeration. Thanks for your response.

        Buy some shortening powder.

Supplier of all things preparedness, specializing in the finest in freeze-dried food, emergency gear, and water storage.

Then you will only have to add the required amount of water to rehydrate all of the powdered ingredients.

Be sure to check out the bucket packing vids (see my welcome post to you) as well as read the sticky posts on long term food storage. Some things it is best to buy prepackaged and some things you can pack yourself and save some $$.
