      Wendy, the dutch oven will have short legs, usally three to help the oven stay balanced. They keep the oven elevated off the coals slightly and also allow for stacking. Look at some of the cast iron dutch ovens for camping online and you'll see. The legs are not long, maybe an inch or so.

        Thanks! We have never used a dutch oven to cook on our camping excursions so wasn't sure. I think the dutch oven tops my list for the weekend. Thanks again!

            We are actually trying it when we do our get together this month if the weather cooperates I will do some video and post on it once we get it accomplished. I'm very interested in trying it

              I should NEVER open anything like this this close to lunch!!! Looks excellent!!! I've got a couple of Dutch ovens but always used them on the stove. GOTTA try it :-)
