As a Christians, we learn from the Bible. The Bible reveals so much information if viewed from the correct perspective. Since the Bible was written first in Hebrew, then in Greek, by Jews, we must look at it from the Jewish side rather than Greek, Roman, or European. God reveals things to us on his calender (the Jewish calendar). We don't see these things on the Gregorian calendar.
Gen 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
The word translated for seasons above is (moed) and means appointed times/also feast. God reveals things through his calendar.
Here is some information revealed on the Jewish calendar about the times we are in.
17 Tammuz (29 June 2010)
Israel worshiped the Golden Calf . Moses broke the Tablets of stone.
Hebrew year 3184 (586 BCE), the walls of Jerusalem were breached by the Babylonians.
Apostomos, captain of the Roman forces, publicly burned the Torah.
Titus and Rome breached the walls of Jerusalem in 3760 (70 CE).
Pope Gregory IX ordered the confiscation of all manuscripts of the Talmud in 4999 (1239).
In 1391, more than 4,000 Jews were killed in Toledo and Jaen, Spain.
In 4319 (1559) the Jewish Quarter of Prague was burned and looted.
The Kovno ghetto was liquidated on this day in 5704 (1944).
In 5730 (1970) Libya ordered the confiscation of Jewish property.

9 Av called Tisha B'Av (20 July 2010)
The twelve spies sent by Moses to observe the land of Canaan returned, 10 with false reports.
The First Temple built by King Solomon was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE.
The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE.
Bar Kokhba's revolt against Rome failed in 135 CE. Simon bar Kokhba was killed, and the city of
Betar destroyed.
Jews were expelled from England in 1290.
The Alhambra Decree of 1492, expelling the Jews from Spain, took effect on the 7th of Av, just
two days before 9 Av. (Interesting that Christopher Columbus' mother was a Jew).
9 Av, 1914 was August 1, the day Germany declared war on Russia and the Swiss army.
On the eve of 9 Av 1942, the m*** deportation began of Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto.
The day after 9 Av in 2005, Israel began the expulsion of Gush Katif residents in the Gaza Strip.
The expulsion was pushed back by a day, so as not to coincide with Tisha B'Av (9 Av).
The Second Lebanon War took place in the three weeks leading up to Tisha B'Av in 2006.
The three week period between 17 Tammuz and 9 Av is called the dire straights and is a time of repentance.
My point to all this is that God reveals to us signs and appointed times on his calendar. So pray and watch what is going, especially in Israel.
