  • do you need a reason to get out and get your preps in order... all of them.

If you heard the show last Friday, you heard the update on Chaplain Wes Modder. Modder’s commanding officer is doing all he can to ensure that the Chaplain is forced out of the Navy. Just weeks before this process started, his commanding officer praised him in a review calling him, “the best of the best.”

What happened to change the commanding officer’s mind? A small handful of military personnel came forward to complain that, during counseling sessions, the chaplain had given advice based on the Bible.

Specifically, he talked about the Bible’s views on sexual activity and homosexuality. Because these biblical views run contrary to the politically correct views currently espoused by the military, he is now fighting to save his career.

You might have also heard on the show about LCpl Monifa Sterling who was convicted at a court-martial for putting a Bible verse on her computer screen. And there are many other stories of Christians in the military being punished for expressing their biblical beliefs.

The hostility against expressions of Christian faith in the military increased when Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was repealed and homosexuals were allowed to serve openly in the military. That event propelled forward a shift in the military culture that was already happening.

The same will happen in the civilian world if the Supreme Court ruling on Obergefell vs. Hodges forces same-sex marriage on the nation. We are only a week away from the ruling from the court. Please pray that God will direct the hearts and minds of the justices to protect His institution of marriage.

The REAL QUESTION should be "WHY IS THE STATE INVOLVED IN RELIGIOUS MATTERS?"

I hate to see Christians belittled and oppressed. As a Christian, I will try not to judge others and I will pray for ALL (EVERYONE) to correct their path(es).

We need to stop focusing on the Religious Views as a base for law. Religion is about FREE WILL and if you remove the free will than it is no longer about religion and it becomes about control. If there is NO VICTIM then there is NO NEED for the STATE to CONTROL it. I believe our focus should be more on "Why THE STATE (Fed or Local) is involved in who we decide is or is not our family?" The state should NOT have any power in deciding who I can or can not marry (outside of child abuse or indigents ie possible victims).

Marriage is religious right and that right should left between you, your's and your church. If your chosen person does not fit with your religion, then make your own, I don't care.

If we need a state level legal binding contract then change the term at that level to something like "Civil Union" instead of "Marriage". Remove the term Marriage from the STATE. But really it should be as simple as going to the court house and filling out a form saying I am naming XYZ as my "Other" and naming ZYX as an "immediate family member". So that those parties could be treated as FAMILY in all matters.

Both GAY AND STRAIGHT should be on the same side of the fence trying to get the STATE out of their bed, unless they are trying to CONTROL someone else.

STOP TRYING TO DIVIDE and START UNITING for FREEDOM...

I didn't used to believe this way, but I 100% agree with Not_Yet_Prepped... Scripture does not teach MARRIAGE is a governmental matter, it was among FAMILIES and INDIVIDUALS. We are also not in Israel, the "Promised Land," but rather a "strangers land," so we do not have authority Scripturally to demand much of anything from the "Natives."
