Samson as a black guy wasn't stupid enough?

I know it's common practice to fawn over any Quote Christian Unquote movie. I know it's church practice to talk up some of these ridiculous movies and shows.

The reality is they do harm to the Word of God.

I can't think of anyone that was saved, came to repentance, etc. from one of these ridiculous movies.

But I HAVE had to discuss things like "no, their really is no "rock monsters" in Scripture" after someone saw some of these stupid movies.

Seriously, it needs to end. We don't HAVE to fawn over BAD movies that adulterate The Word just because someone thinks it might "reach" someone.

We watched on DVD their last "Bible" series that was fawned over in churches, etc. It was a huge let down. Watching it with the family, it got to the point after Jesus was crucified were Thomas spoke with him-

I paused it and said "they can pull this whole thing together right here, let's see what they do..."

And if their was five words in Scripture that pull everything together it's those words of Thomas after seeing the nail scares-

    "MY LORD AND MY GOD!"

It was left out of the stupid "Bible" series.

They are watering down The Word. It was Mary Centric, running similar to "The Passion". The power was left out, the "meat" is missing.

The problem is people don't read Scripture and STUDY Scripture like they should. So a black Samson isn't questioned, missing the MEAT of the Gospels isn't a big deal, cause most don't really know The Word anyways.

Now they are casting chinese people for Jews in this next one- I was really hoping they gave up their horrible attempt at movie making. What next, a space alien as Jesus?

I know I know, I sound petty, I sound angry, someone is thinking "if it gets someone in then it's fine." Is it? Has it?

I remember hearing the big hoopla about the first awful series at church before it came out- boy the cheerleaders were going non stop. Kinda like the ridiculous "Fireproof" movies and similar drivel. Boy if you weren't for them, you must be an atheist or some gawd awful commie or sumtim! Yet when the "bible" started airing, we really quickly heard the cheerleaders die down. Wondering why and kinda realizing why at the same time, wee waited a few weeks and asked. We were told "yeah it wasn't what we expected."

Why are you expecting good out of Hollywood?
Your expecting something real out of there? "Oh brother no, you see, the producers are Christian and so we have to promote this movie or we are gawd awful commies..."

No you don't. Why not tell people to spend the 3 hours wasted watching that drivel with reading the Scripture, or watching one of the DVD's that portrays the events and has the Scriptural references going at the bottom so you can follow along.

"Gospel of John" wasn't perfect, but it was a heckuva lot better than this crap now. Even the Bruce Marchino "Matthew" and "Acts" DVD's are much better in that regard.

We are never going to LIKE everything, but that ain't the point. The point is that black Samsons, rock monsters in Genesis, leaving the meat out of The Word, etc. is a DIVERSION.

So I can't and won't be amped up over these people's next little adulteration.

    Thank you!

Noah was a TERRIBLE movie, I actually think hollyweird is trying to make fun of CHRISTians.

I will not waste my money or time on the movie about Moses after hearing that the "actor" playing Moses said he was "barbaric and schizophrenic.

Christian commentators alarmed by actor’s comments and by Exodus director Ridley Scott saying he needed a ‘more scientific’ explanation for the parting of Red Sea than divine intervention

Well, the liberal bastards certainly won't make fun of Mohammed because they fear the ensuing retribution from "peace-loving" Muslims.
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.

I guess I somewhat differ on some things... I personally can't stand "Bon Jovi Jesus" movies like "The Bible," yet I also thought Noah had more right than many know, mainly due to indoctrination and not knowing that there is MORE to the story out there than just what we call the "Bible."

Lucifer was encrusted with precious jewels (pretty ROCKS), so why would poetic license by making fallen angels (Enoch calls them Watchers) encrusted with the dirt of the earth as a curse be not within a dramatic option?

The Book of Adam & Eve has both of them as bright, radiant creatures before the fall, and the "animal skins" they were given was what we call "skin." This pre-fallen Adam & Eve was in the movie, Noah.

And I say there is MORE to the story because there many other books and it must be more... If not, then Jesus had to be one of the worst judges of character ever... Jesus chose 12 men to be his Disciples. Out of those 12, throughout their ENTIRE LIVES as Apostles, only a few ever had a "written letter" included in the New Testament "canon," and a only few more were only mentioned in the New Testament briefly. So poorly did His Disciples fail to produce anything of lasting value, that Jesus, over 20 years AFTER his resurrection, had to get out of the Throne Room and call another man, named Paul, to set straight the path that the other Disciples failed to do. Yet his divine writings were so confusing and unclear that it created hundreds of splintered groups who all read Paul differently than the other. Is this your Jesus?

Not mine... I think the other Disciples did a LOT and wrote A LOT... The Recognitions of Clement is but just one example, and there are dozens and dozens of other writings that ~~may~~ also be legit, but rejected by Rome and Constantine.

So I guess I am saying that we know so LITTLE, so I don't get all upset about Hollywood getting it wrong. We all have it wrong in many ways, IMO.

I do think Exodus was a stupid attempt and did not see it... But knowing and have read Enoch, Jubilees, and Jasher, I found Noah very interesting in many ways... Jasher has "The Watchers" helping Noah build the Ark, which to anyone who has built anything LARGE, thinking about how Noah would have built that Ark, knows that something or someone must have helped him... And in the end, The Creator trusted Noah to do the right thing, which he did in that movie. So I enjoyed it...

And the Hebrews were more closer to blacks in skin color than white Europeans who seem to play all the roles in these movies. Moses' wife, Zipporah, was black (Cushan Midianite)...

Color of an actor doesn't bother me to much. I saw Noah...I also saw the older one with John voight (sp) ? Both did not exactly make Noah out to be perfect. In fact most humans are not. But it's Hollywood so it's gonna be off ...very few films nail it per say. The watchers and how they were portrayed was interesting imho....did not expect that to be put out there....

It shows zeal and righteous indignation... Like someone insulting your family. The spirit of Phinehas is alive and well in some of us. It is a righteous thing, a sign of new birth.
