  • Grandfather with Bone Cancer

Found out this morning that my 94 year old grandpa has bone cancer. This is the man that taught me how to shoot all manner of projectile weapons, taught me how to fish and hunt, was with me when I took my first deer & rabbit. He pulled the barb of a catfish head out of my big toe, a great story and lesson for young uns.

He is the last & youngest of 12, lived through the great depression, ate black bird pie, poured the concrete of the first interstate in chicago when he was 20 something.

Above all he was a man of God. He will be deeply missed.

I lost my Grandmother when she was 98. In many ways, it was a blessing. Still very difficult, praying for you and your family.

Thank you all for the prayers. He is in good spirits, says he feels fine, and that he isn't ready to go.

He unexpectedly passed about 3 am last night. He had been released to his assisted living and had been doing 20 minutes on the stationary bike without being out of breath. Answered prayer was that he went in peace and without the pain of the bone cancer. It is so bitter sweet.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

About 3 weeks after my Grandpa passed away my Uncle passed away as well. CHF, my aunt performed CPR on him for 30 minutes. I would ask prayers for my Aunt, she lost her Dad and her husband in less than a month.
