    Cell Phone vs. Bible
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our
    cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

This is something to make you go ... hmm, where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities?

    And no dropped calls!

I am not stating I'm "perfect", but I do carry my bible with my cell phone. I have an iPhone and have the Bible loaded as an app. I have to say I will use it often and wondered a while back...what if I didn't have it in my phone? The app will allow me to have some quiet time if/when I want.

Having said that, I didn't carry my Bible with me before the iPhone. Also, I didn't say oh, I forgot my Bible...it's oh, I forgot my cell phone. We always need to put Him in the forefront, which is sometimes difficult to remember in a busy, broken world.

              Wonderful! Quite convicting eeyore.

What a crazy idea to live as if the Word of God was something that we couldn't live without! I'm reminded of the story my Dad told me about how he went to Pakistan and met a preacher who had only the book of John... And he preached illegally to thousands of Muslims. Just that one book was enough to have a huge impact. The preacher lamented that if only he could get more of the Word of God.......

              I'm glad you posted this.

although, I will say, the bedside bible is never ever put in a drawer and forgotten about. =)

If we will treat the bible as our cell phones then the peace of the earth will be finished and nothing will happen good.

I posted this on my FB page. I had seen this somewhere else, probably in an email trail. Great post. I read the bible when I first wake up, before I even have any coffee, to start my day right in the right mindset. However, I don't carry it with me, need to get a travel bible to put in my car. Thanks for posting!!

My hope and prayer is to make the following verse will be true again in my life

Job 23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
