  • I am a Delicate Tropical Plant...

That's not exactly the truth, I just don't like cold cold weather, but here lately I've wanted to go to Alaska, or Montana, or South Dakota. I must really hate myself or something.
    I assure everyone here,
    I am human. I think.
Anyway, until I go home (Heaven is home), I live in central FL. I got a wife, and kids, and life is interesting right now. I mean that in the Chinese sense of the word interesting, you know what I mean?
I like ham radio, the qrp in my forum name points to my love of low power operations. Typically, I use about a watt. I got a kit radio I built a couple of years ago called a SW+ 40. It's a great little radio, and I've got it putting about 1 watt out on 40m. I call it my "Killer watt" radio. I like to help people get involved with ham radio, it's probably where I will contribute the most to this forum, sharing my knowledge of radio operations, construction, antennas, and portability.
Sooner or later I will talk about kites and antennas!
I work for a local grocery store change, in their manufacturing informations support department. I monkey with databases.

Welcome, I look forward to hearing about shortwave. That is a "short"coming (no pun intended), in my plans.
Man created shotguns because God created cats.

Man, those Muslims sure are worried about what they eat. I went over there and all I heard was Alohaaaaa Snack-bar.

Welcome to S & P. Lots of good people and info here. I would suggest writing a blog article on the radio kit you built. I too mess around with DB's, mostly DB2 but I am cross training with Oracle.

Sweet! i might consider the blog, I've got a blog external to this site that I keep updated infrequently, and promised in my last post that the next will be about ham radio. At my work, we have all manner of DB's, DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and others. Mainly, I work with MS SQL Server backends, and MS Access front ends. It's a chore sometimes because I would rather be using linux, but oh well, I go to pay the bills!
