Always wanted to move to Alaska. Are you in the sticks or more urban? If your in the sticks please tell us about some experiences. Anyways, welcome.

Man, those Muslims sure are worried about what they eat. I went over there and all I heard was Alohaaaaa Snack-bar.

Well my nearest neighbors are 1mile to the south and about 1/2 to 3/4 mile to the north if that is in the sticks here we call it the bush. And technically I am not in the Bush as we are on the road system about 75 miles North of Los-Anchorage . We started a raised bed garden this year and were pretty successful no tomatoes or corn but carrots and peas lettuce radishes and onions. We can salmon and moose here. I have my free hunting fishing and trapping license for the last 41/2 years and have not done any thing with it to busy. We get road kill moose and salmon from people at church and patrons at our Espresso.

        Hello 264win,

I used to live near Talkeetna, also about 100miles north of Anchorage. i don't miss the winters, but I do miss the Salmon! How does one get a 'free hunting license' in AK? I know those wildlife-enforcement-agents are hell on wheels up there.

Welcome. Look forward to hearing about your life in "the bush".

Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!

ATTENTION: No trees or animals were harmed in any way in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were really ticked off!
