Hello All,
I just found the forum while searching for a place to share and learn about this subject. As I started to study the whole prepping idea I found that basicaly I have always been a prepper to some degree. The items I was seeing that folks put in an EDC bag was all things I have always carried. Being a country boy I am never without my pocket knife, A Leatherman and a small flashlight. And I always carry a weapon (or two!) it just seems natural to me. My wife cans garden veggies in the summer and being poor as a church mouse most of our young lives we know ways to get by and survive. And it was almost a shock to me to learn that even people of my generation (48) have all but forgotten how to grow food or how to can. Heck most people I know couldn't eat if they didn't have a microwave. And what they call a "Bug Out Bag", and "Bugging Out" just sounds like a camping trip......lol
I live in central NC now and have recently began doing some basic prepping and studying survival techniques. Many things I find are things taught to me when I was young and things I have learned, Since I was a young boy I have always been in the woods..
Thank you for the forum and I hope to learn much from everyone and hopefully at some point I can offer an idea or two..
Matt
