Good afternoon one and all.
My name is Gus and I am from upstate NY. No, I am not anywhere near NYC, I am actually over a couple hundred miles northwest of NYC.
I have been into survial and preparedness all my life. I was raised around it. My father grew up on a self sustaining farm and served a few tours in Vietnam with the 101st. so I was taught by a man with a great deal of knowledge and experience.
I work for a well known firearms maker (I wont discuss what Company for OPSEC reasons and because I am not here to try to get someone to buy anything or promote anything). I am a big fan of AR's and bolt action rifles. My favorite pistol caliber is .44mag and I only shoot shot out of shotguns.
I have been in Emergency services since 1990 as a volunteer firefighter. I was a career Paramedic for 18 years before changing to gunsmithing. I am still active in the local FD as an assistant Chief and President of the Department. I am also on the County and State SAR teams.
I have a small farm consisting of chickens, rabbits, and a few cows (of course we have the full onslaught of pets too...cats, dogs, birds, hamsters, and a crow I nursed back to health that never went away after healing up).
My wife and kids are very involved in preparedness as well. We are a happy Christian family that is very fortunate to be able to live our lives in the serenity that preparedness and independence brings.
I am looking forward to getting to know you folks and learning from many of you. Hopefully I can offer something from my learnings and experiences.
