Howdy from another Okie Scoob. Hope what you read and learn here energized you to work on being prepared for the worst.

              Hey scoob,

Hi from another new member. What does your rain catch system entail? This is on my mind too.

Is a regular rain barrel connected to downspouts a good idea or bad idea because everyone would see it and potentially take it?

                  Welcome, Hello from Northern KY.
I too would like to see some pics. Many in our area have cisterns under the house that are fed by the gutters. I live in a newer home without a system like that. We catch in rain barrels but hope to increase our storage.

ty yall! im using plastic 55 gal drums and going to connect them to my downspouts, at the moment my plan is to use one for potable and the rest for irrigation. im also gonna try a biosand/slowsand filter and do some testing to see how it works. ive done some research on it and i think it may just work, i hope so. wish me luck. yall keep up the great work you do as well! great forum!! p.s. my plans could possibly change as i progress, im kinda winging it a bit lol, yall take care!
