  • Hello from the Midwest...

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself.

I am a single mom to three kids -- two teenagers and one just a bit younger. We live in the Midwest -- effected by all the Seasons, tornados, some flooding in our area. We live just outside a large city (which is more and more making me nervous).

I have been reading online for months about prepping and am obviously still learning. I have started putting away water and food. I am looking for book suggestions and any other suggestions anyone has to offer a mom on a single income (no support) with 3 active kids.

    Thanks,

    WG

    Welcome from Georgia
I'm new here, too. Been on this forum for about a month now.
From my limited experience I can say the the folks here are quick to welcome you into the fold, share their knowledge and not condesend to us 'newbies'. I've read a lot of excellent articles/blogs and watched some very informative videos here.

I hope your experience here is as good as mine....welcome and hope to hear from you often.

Don't be shy to ask questions, but please try the search function first :-)

Welcome from Michigan! Prepping can be VERY expensive but if anyone can stretch a dollar then I bet its a mom with teenagers. Try "Emergency Food Storage and Survival Handbook" by Peggy Layton and How to Survive the End of the World as we Know it" by John Wesley Rawles. " The Preppers Pocket Guide" by Bernie Carr isn't bad either.

Welcome to S & P we are glad you are here. Lots of good people and info here.

Do a quick search before asking your question, we have talked about a lot of things so it might be covered.

Include meta tags on threads you start so that they will be easier to search for.

Check out the blog articles there is some good info there.

Look on youtube for videos made by PAW Productions - delta69alpha and also Survival Report.

Lastly share your experience with the rest of us.
