I just finished Patriots by James Wesley, Rawles and found it to be very entertaining as well as informative. I came across Survivalblog.com via an Article in the news paper about using PVC pipe to garden with and it listed his website. I then found the reference to this forum site from his. I look forward to learning more about prepping and learning from all of you.

    Sincerely,
    elittle

This is the warmest welcome I have ever had to a forum. That shows the level of a communtiy and that they truly do want to help each other. I should probably do a little bit more of an intro: Served 8 years in the U.S. Army Reserve as a 63W, All wheeled vehicle repairer. I grew up hunting and fishing, Grandpa who grew up in the "Great Depression" taught me 90% of what I know, especially how to shoot. He gave me his love of the outdoors, he was in his 80's when he stopped hunting (he is 91 now). I have lived in MD, MO, IA, and CO (by far the prettiest). Thanks again for the warm welcome!!

Hello from a fellow Illinois person! After living in CO or MO why in the world did you come back to this little place of H*** on earth?

@Fido - Family. My wife and I are both from here and our families live in the same town for the most part, her parents, my parents, aunts/uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Other than that I really don't care for Illinois, oh and I forgot that i had lived in TN for about 3 months.

Good reason. As soon as I can I'm getting out. Don't see that happening for at least 7 years though.
