    Hello from Orange County

    Hello,

    We are brand new to prepping and are just making our first purchases of long term storage food, etc. We live in over-crowded Orange County, CA which I feel is a huge disadvantage in the event the SHTF. I feel we will need to over estimate our food needs since there isn't much wildlife around here or a yard big enough to garden. We are seriously considering buying property in the Sierra Nevada Mts for a bugout location. Baby steps for now though.

    Welcome to the boards!

    Baby steps are perfectly fine provided they are heading in the right direction. Which you are heading in the right direction since you have found the need to be better prepared.

    Feel free to ask questions and have fun learning.
    Experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson.

                    Welcome from Ga. From a guy also in the beginning stages......practice makes perfect and like Matt said, eat the steak one bite at a time, and do enjoy it! The folks on this forum are some of the most logical and knowledgeable in the business!
