  • New Person - NC

    Hi,

I'm a new guy from the NC area here. I fear that I may not have too much to share at this stage. I'm just learning about preparedness. I have really benefited from the internet over the past two years of personal study on this topic. I've used the internet as a tool to learn about topics such as gardening, raising livestock and generating power from sources other than the electrical grid. I've joined this group with hopes of learning more and sharing my experiences too.

Two years ago I moved my wife and kids to the country and purchased a house and 12 acres (small abandon farm) Over the past two years I have set up a small solar powered rain harvesting system for my garden, repaired a lot of fences, built a large too shed and fixed up a house that was in pretty bad shape. We have several chickens, just joined the local bee-keepers organization. I'm reading everything I can put my hands on.

Needless to say, I think this is a great web-site and I'm excited about spending more time here. I sure would have a lot more time for fun projects if I didn't have to work a full time job!

          Welcome,

Don't sell yourself short. I haven't done any of those things so you are way ahead of me in those areas.
