Have been wanting to prepare for some time now but the wife wasn't ready. She finally woke up and we have started. Don't have the room to go whole hog but we plan on doing as much as we can with what we can.

getting started with your wife on board is so much better than with her resistance. You are going to go through a time when you hit the wall so to speak. You need to set mini goals so you can reach them along the way to being fully prepared. If you get ready for one week it is like getting up one rung of a ladder. Don't try to do everything over night. Too many of us try to do that and burn out. When you feel like you are about on the edge bring it up here. These are some really good people here. We have to look out for each other or we will all fail. If you can't afford the big expensive water filter right now, then buy a Katadyn Mini from JRH. they are a great little unit and will see you through. Later buy the more expensive Pocket filter when you can afford it. Make a plan and be ready to revise it every six months. YOu will need to as you will find out. Life changes and so do plans.
