  • Howdy from Texas

I am fairly new to prepping, but have been doing survival since I was young . My mom has actually been prepping for years, and she finally got me into it after the birth of my first child.

I am a firefighter/emt in North Texas, but I'm looking to move to Oklahoma sooner than later. My wife is somewhat supportive of my prepping, but I think i'm slowly helping her to see the light. My extended family lives very close, and make the logistics of a successful bug out difficult. They are not interested in prepping whatsoever, and would be very a very large burden if TSHTF. I'm trying to start to plan for them in that event, but my wife and child come first.

I have an excellent bug out location, and my plan is get out of dodge the moment things start to turn south. It has plenty of food, water, cover, and has only one access point that I can cover from over 1,000 yards.

I dont feel that prepared yet, but I'm working on it and hoping to learn a lot here.

My folks also got me into prepping/Survival a long time ago. Where we lived you had to be a survivalist. No one lived long there if you were not tough. It is good to see you here. GB
