  • Great to be here!

    Hello everyone,

This is a lovely place you've got here -- thanks for allowing me to be a part of it! I'm just a few years out of college and really just in the early stages of preparedness. I've got a ton of student loans that I want to pay off as quickly as possible, so while I may not be able to acquire much gear until then, I plan on acquiring as much knowledge as I can. So thanks to Robert for making this site available so that people of all levels of income can develop and execute the best preparedness plan they can.

While I have a few weeks worth of food and water stored, I've got a long ways to go before I could feel prepared for a long-term emergency scenario. I work in IT, so my day-job skills are only useful in a grid-up, everything-is-just-peachy situation. I've got a lot to learn, but I look forward to sharing the journey with, and learning from, everyone here.

    Take care,

    Joel

Welcome to S & P we are glad you are here. Lots of good people and info here. Do a quick search before asking your question, we have talked about a lot of things so it might be covered. Check out the blog articles there is some good info there. Lastly share your experience with the rest of us. Look on youtube for videos made by PAW Productions - delta69alpha and also survival report.

Another fellow IT person here...I highly recommend Dave Ramsey's debt snowball method for getting rid of those pesky student loans (any debt really).
