Hello all! New to list have been a Florida resident for the past 38 years so Not new to prepping,we have to do that every year for hurricane season, but abouta years ago I felt a new urgency to not just gather in but to learn some skills. I have been raising and keeping backyard chickens (which has helped me learn so much more about composting and fertilizing) hanging out the wash, making lye soap, trying to perfect my bread baking, fire making (I practice everytime I light a fire in the fireplace in the winter), shooting practice and canning.
My hobbies include quilting (been at this one for 25 years), rug hooking, gardening, cooking. Would love to hear from others learing skills as well as other preppers in my area (Tampa Bay)
Opportunity is missed by most as it is dressed in overalls and looks like work!

Greeting from Door County, Wisconsin I've been prepping on and off for 35 years and began learning from Tappen and Saxon back in they day. From what I've seen I'm going to enjoy it here."The difference between genius and stupidity is . . .genius has its limits."~Albert Einstein

Greetings from sunny Western South Dakota, the edge of the Black Hills (Mt Rushmore). My hometown just named most patriotic small town in the USA!"Only DEAD fish swim WITH the stream!" Malcolm Muggeridge

Hi,
Just checking in. Read, write(very poorly), shoot, study. work on cars and trucks and tractors and stuff. live in mid missouri. retired rn. not much else. live by myself with elderly parent next door. not much in preps, just normal stuff and a bit of extra and what knowledge I've accumulated. Got a couple of acres and a pond. Maybe I can get along when inflation makes everything too expensive to buy.
