    New, but not paying any darn attention or respect

    New to the forums here, but not new to survival issues.

    Like everyone else on the forum, will share knowledge and advise.

    ACTUALLY I'M JUST HERE TO TRY TO GET FREE ADVERTISING AND EVEN THOUGH I HAD THIS DISCUSSION ALREADY WITH THE OWNER OF THE SITE, I'M AN IMPATIENT A-HOLE WHO CAN'T WAIT A LITTLE BIT. I PUT SOME BS ON HERE LIKE I'M GOING TO "SHARE KNOWLEDGE AND ADVISE" BUT THAT'S UTTER BS, I'M JUST HERE TO GET FREE ADVERTISING! THE IRONY BEING THAT IF I HAD STUCK AROUND AND ACTUALLY BEEN HELPFUL TO OTHERS, THE SITE OWNER WOULD HAVE GLADLY GIVEN ME FREE ADVERTISING, BUT SINCE I'M AN IMPATIENT FREELOADING POS, THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. 1ADMIN

        What a flippin jackarse you are!!! WOW!!!

        Mr. Silas Longshot PM'ed the day he joined- a few days ago. His email addy basically screamed spammer and I knew in all likelihood he WOULD Spam- as he has. Here is the post I made on the Mod board covering the entire discussion between Mr. Longshot and I-

        Hi, just checking in per the rules to see if references to my book and website are OK with you. I don't do blatant 'spamming', but can refer to a book or item in inventory that may be useful for items discussed in posts, or quote sections of my book that would pertain to the subject of posts.

        Your best bet- and the only one that will work around these parts- is to just be helpful for a while WITHOUT plugging your book, website, etc.

        AFTER a time, not 3 days from now, not two weeks, not 12 posts... I'll be more than happy to put a link up for you, plug your book for you, etc.

        We have had a lot of people come on here and try to immediately use it as a marketing platform for their: blog, business, book, etc. We don't allow that.

        I've made the same offer to many of them, to date none have stuck around after that. They were all looking for a quick fix FREEBEE.

        Maybe you'll be the first, I hope so!

        If he's true to form with "XZYkeyguy" and some of the other survival spammers he won't stay around after this...

        If he does, and he's willing and wanting to be part of the community, so be it and I'll help him at some point in time.

        People that come in like this are joining something already established, they have to understand the onus is on THEM to be a part of the community first, before we give them any MORE freebees (the site itself being a freebee).

        Mr. Spamus LongSpam KNEW THE SCORE, KNEW what he needed to do..... He COULD have had free advertising and made a REAL name for himself with not a whole helluva lot of effort, instead he lined himself up with the POS Johnny Come lately "I'm looking for free advertising" crowd.

        So long Silas... your the epitome of survival spammers....

                *note to self.....mentioning our business would be a bad idea* :D
                I will say this though, Our website (which shall remain nameless here) used to have a forum function on it. As much as I hated to do it, I had to remove the forum from the site. It was just too much trouble to prune out the spam. I know how much time and effort you have to put into keeping the forum usable in the face of the flood of spam. Thanks, and hats off to you for taking the trouble. :)
