Hi. Found this site while surfing. Really interesting. I'm a 49 yr old disabled woman, right now I'm re-learning to use my right hand after surgery due to RA. My health problems aside, I've been what is called a prepper for almost 20 years. I taught my husband to buy extra groceries when we have the money, because when money gets short at least the family is fed. It only took one time out of work for him to be sold on my way of thinking. In the last several years I've started buying cans of dehydrated food. My storage capabilities are amazing if I do say so myself. So much so I just found a case of cans I had "very carefully put up" and forgot about. We garden every year and wanted to have a root cellar this year but my contractor fizzeled out. We live on 3/4 of an acre surrounded by 483 acres with woods, pastures, a pond, a spring, lots of deer, rabbits, dove and fish. We're not getting any younger but we're still learning about a lot of things. We grow our own peaches and plums, blueberries and strawberries. We'll never be able to bug out, but I'm setting up a plan for my daughter and sister for their families to hide, survive here when SHTF. Looking forward to trading ideas with everyone.
