  • Hello from Kansas

Hi everyone. I have been reading the forums for several days and can't believe how much information there is. It's almost hard to know where to start.

A little bit about me. I am a crafter by nature and have been feeling a strong "back-to-the-basics" pull for the last year or so. I recently learned how to prepare wool and spin it to make yarn. I am a homemaker with four kids and I suppose they are my real reason for wanting to be here. I can't imagine telling them we have no food.

I've always been a couponer (yes, kind of like extreme couponing) and so that helps with purchasing enough food to stock up. Now I am on the search for supplies for LTS of my food.

I really enjoy this site and appreciate how kind everyone is, especially to the newbies. I feel like I have a late start in prepping but know that now is better than never.

Hi Spinner and welcome from Arkansas. You're working on an amazing skill with your spinning wool. What a great skill that would be to have. Good job!

Hello from Georgia. Get prepared to read, make notes, and read some more.

BTW, super couponing helped me to free up more money to purchase specialized items I could not either scrounge nor build.

          Welcome aboard.

And you are right, better late then never.
