Newbie from S. Missouri

Hey ya'll. My wife and I are from the Ozarks and we love to fish and hunt. We have 2 teenage kids, a 19 yr. old girl and a 16 yr.old boy. They too love to hunt an fish. We grew up back when folks were'nt spoiled on microwaves and puters. I work on a cattle ranch and so I am outside all day long in heat and dust or the wind, snow and rain. I love my job. We have always been ones that believe in bein ready for just about anything so we have always put out a garden and raise most all of our meat what we don't hunt. Pork, Beef, Chicken, are all grass-fed and even a horse or two if need be. We love to shoot and we get in ALOT of practise. We have our own short and long distance target boards set up in our pasture so we generally can right shoot off the deck of our house. Neighbors think its great and strangers think were nuts. Ha! Just keep thinkin that and we'll get along just fine. We also have our very own BOL JIC. NO VISITORS ALLOWED. WE SHOOT ON SITE.

Hi Redneck. Love that area of Missouri. The forest and the hills are great.. I often wonder why I'm a "flatlander" in Oklahoma..hehe

Me and the wife have taken a couple vacations to the springfield area, going to the caves and that drive through wilderness park is pretty cool too. In fact we prefer Springfield over Branson, guess it's a little more laid back atmosphere. That's great you have the kids out hunting and fishing. Until this year my 14 yr old daughter wouldn't get involved much but this year she was full helping out with processing our deer, and even my 6 yr old ran the crank on the grinder..he's still too antsy to take out with me in the field but it'll be soon.
