Revamping registration process 8/1/2024 read

Evidently in one of the updates the normal registration process got re-set to some new Vbulletin board setting. The registration process got a little jacked up after that and we have had few working registrations after that. This is the #1 reason we ask (literally require) new users to make an introductory post- so we know their account is functioning properly. This used to be a polite "ask" but given the problems, it's now a "make sure you do it" type of thing.

If we don't know there is a problem, we can't fix it.

If we can get it reset to the old parameters the registration process will be stupid simple again- A new user registers for the forums, we go in and "approve or decline" them and they are then good to go to post something. And for the paranoid types- we ONLY decline registrations that are thought to be spammers- read the tacked post about overseas IPs and why your super secret squirrel VPN may fall under that category. Register with your normal setup, and then switch to your super secret squirrel VPN if you so desire.

Will update again after testing to be sure everything is back to normal soon.

We have tested the registration process and it's back to how it was initially-

1. You make a new registration
2. We have to see it and go in and manually approve it. Again for the paranoid types- NO ONE gets declined unless it appears like you are a spammer or are using some IP from overseas (99% of the spam we get comes from overseas). So use your normal web setup to register, not your super secret squirrel VPN IF that VPN bounces anywhere outside the US. After registration and your first posting, use your super secret squirrel vpn all you want. But understand we have to know your not a spammer.
3. Once approved, you will be required to make a post right away so we know your account is functioning correctly.
