  • Backyard gardening and seed saving to be illegal

    http://www.naturalnews.com/030418_Fo...Act_seeds.html

This new Senate Law, if passed, will be under Homeland Security. Homeland Security???? The law will make it illegal for you to grow and save heirloom seeds.

I have already written my Senators. Don't know if it will have any affect. I just can't understand why the U. S. Government want to control my backyard gardening. The bill will also significantly hurt small farmers who sell their produce at farmer's markets.

    Another attempt to control us.

If you can control the food and entertainment you can control the people.

This just another form of Nais.

just wrote one of my senators and told him to stay out of my garden!! **** Durbin, the sponsor of the bill, is one of my states senators. Never liked him before, really don't like him now. I can only hope he will get fired too.

Its Senate Bill S510....and it is a joke. If it passes, my retreat to the hills will happen sooner than later. It is utter BS that they can even muster up this idea.
I have always dared any man or critter to trespass into my garden....my neighbors were warned once, in an a$$hole type of way, and they never looked in that direction again. I would love to catch me an Alphabet boy in my garden pulling stuff up, he would be next years fertilizer

Yeah, along with writing my Senator, I'm writing General Mills, Inc. (Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso, and manny others are all owned by Gen. Mills) and Kraft foods among others, because they are supporters of the bill. Because they support this, they will never get my money for any products again, and they will be so informed. No more Cheerios for the kids. If we could get some publicity and maybe a boycott, we might get somewhere, but we are probably screwed. Lets review: Change we can believe in= government controlled and mandated healthcare, government automakers, government banks, government private sector job killing machine, no border enforcement, acts of war by terrorists treated as normal criminal activity, acts of patriotisms and constitutional support treated as suspected terrorist behavior, government control and intrusiveness at airports for children, veterans, and other Americans who aren't Muslims, government support of Muslim groups, and on and on and on. Now we have government controlled food supply. Would our founding fathers consider this tyranny?
"If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

                Vote from the rooftops?

This will be enforced if passed, unless there is a large enough resistance. If not, you will have an occasional incident, reported like this: "When authorities arrived at John Doe's house to ensure that he was complying with a new law, designed to protect Americans from the threat of a terrorist attack on our food supply, he opened fire on police, resulting in a shoot out, which left John Doe dead. An official with the Department of Homeland Security said they are now investigating his ties to organizations listed as potential terrorist threats." Sounds like a crazy guy to most Americans, because they don't realize John Doe was a veteran, who is a Tea Party Patriot, explaining his "ties" to "organizations suspected as threats." And it just keeps going.

I'm guessing they think only hippies grow their own food and they assume that all hippies are peaceful and unarmed? They are wrong on all accounts.

What I'm trying to figure out is what does a backyard garden where I grow food for myself and my family have to do with interstate commerce? How could this law ever be considered constitutional? How is it that our congressional represenatives always seem to forget their oath to uphold the constitution?

                          I don't really expect an answer :(

Do you get the feeling that our Government doesn't have our best interests at heart? It seems like most everything they do now is to protect big business and the super wealthy. They have facilitated moving our manufacturing jobs out of country. NO country can be great without a strong manufacturing base. It appears to me that the take-down of our country was planned and is well under way.
