  • sawmill wood miser lt40

    an associate is retired.
opposite me... he is a handyman and can "do it all."

he saw a sawmill for sale. wood miser lt40 and bought it used but very good condition. runs on a small diesel engine and has a control panel that allows him to sit at one spot and cut wood and with hydraulics, turns the logs. it's portable.

guys... this thing is awesome.. I finally priced it on the wood miser website. over 40k..

he had an old tenant house on his property that was in real poor condition... had been used for a grain/corn crib for years.
he floored it 12" wide 1" thick boards. same on inside walls. and outside walls. board and batten. foamed the walls and ceiling. has a countertop that is about 4" thick of "beautiful" (I forgot the name of wood)
I asked him about trim.... he just laughed... and responded... i'll get it at home depot... I encouraged him to try lowe's or the local mom and pop lumber store... he laughed again... "i call the sawmill home depot"

we recently had a storm here which knocked down lots of huge old hardwoods and pines in a town nearby.
associate goes to "help with the clean up" which is code for he's getting huge loads of logs that he is stacking on property.

with his machine he can build any structure that is made of wood.

he can turn out huge beams that would cost you 100's of bucks.
what an asset if there is an teotwawki or just as a business now. the word is getting out that he can produce
local lumber. and the line of folks that want his product is growing...

I've just added another item to the shopping list... but I don't think i'll ever get to it... too many other things on the list now, and even used an lt40 is a pricey item...
but if there was a community of folks in a rural area.... yeah.... and awesome addition that should be added before the building ever starts!
Working...
