  • girl scout camps... going up for sale.

some ole fellows heard that a girl scout camp was going up for sale in their area.
they had trouble finding the correct folks to talk to in the GS organization.

    a few hundred acres.
several group shelters/kitchens/meeting rooms. couple of houses.
several camping shed/"cabins" a lake. etc...
they heard that offers were not coming in... and those that were -- were low.

they finally got their stuff together. and finally found a responsible GS leader..

    too late... sale pending.

in the process. they learned that many GS camps across the country are being sold.

just an idea. lots of development already done. ...
there may be one near you and your friends.

    Good post.

A lot of "older" places like this were built semi properly also. Concrete block structures versus stick frame.

While not the ideal method, you can bust a hole in hollow block near the top of the building and fill that corresponding vertical cell with grout mix. Rinse and repeat for each cell along a horizontal line. Stucco over it or put a decorative board over it later. Easy way to pour the walls solid in an existing building.

Punctures already in the (hollow) wall can and usually will ooze a little concrete. That means possible electrical runs, water pipe entries and exits, etc. Be ready to that.

But yeah places like that are (usually) set up to essentially have their own wells, living quarters, large cooking facilities, meeting halls, etc. Ornamental lawns can be turned into garden areas very easily.
