N Carolina now as of 1 aug 2015 All must register farm animals effective this year . Quote from state VET how can we keep the chicken's healthy if we don't know where they are. SEE N.C. Dept of ag for Form . Also goats cows so on and so on.
This is actually part of the safe food act of 2010 FED Law. MI. tried it but every one ignores it.

My impression of NC has been that they are "towing the line" and are in bed with federal gov't dictates... They always seem to have road blocks, check points, and other Big Brother tactics when I travel through there...

agree with rmpl....and many southern states are turning purple. the wrong people get elected to local, county and state boards and they will do like the north does. that is why local elections are so important.

I was just talking to a dairy farmer friend of mine, they have to ear tag, very chip, and have the vet tattoo a # in each calf's ear. Also there is no data base to tell you where the cow goes, 10 years from now it tracks back only to the original owner.!!! Makes no sense. IN Miichigan
