    not those powers lol
it seems i get a good stash of cash to buy some cool daddy gear or whatever and i get sidetracked by the realities of having your own place/homestead etc.
few months back it was the 1k$ into tree removal...which morphed into buying chainsaws..which morphed into lets build lil forts outta the scrap to hide from zombies...
well ive had the week off for vacation. im out checking some herb pots. which happen to sit on our well/pump house.
when we bought the place none of it worked....but alas poor Horatio...i hear water trickling........
i open a valve a ive got a good steady stream(easy 1+ gpm). cool says me. low budget water supply on top of what we have.
it was planned to have it worked on ,,install a pitcher pump or yard spigot.
well in line of the spigot on there is a check vavle and a compression coupling. i get the idea to undo the coupling(pvc) to see if flow increases and eval if i can install a spigot closer to the rigid head/main pipe.

undo coupling..good solid flow 1-3 gpm..im stoked show wife.
i put it all back and then notice water soaking the cast iron/galvanized t fitting on the main pipe.
at this fitting is a reducer to a valve. 2 inch to 1 inch it looks like. well that nipple busted a leak. so ive got a soild 2 ft long stream coming out. i rub the area...the hole gets bigger but flow doesnt increase(thank goodness)..
so what do you do on a holiday weekend when its the end of the day and its a 40 mile drive to town

you walk to your work tools,,,stare at the contents for a few seconds. grab a latex glove..electrical tape and some teflon tape.
the glove gets the fingers twisted and shoved into the hole..the tape gets wrapped around it tight,,fold over more glove over hole area..tape more ..tight. aka i just compression dressed a rusted pipe

its leaking a lil but not shooting out and flooding the area...but seems im gonna have to man up some $$ for parts now or work a deal with a plumber i know.....

i love trying to do this homestead/survivalist life...its awesome ...

this means no multicam pc or plates for xmas ..lol
Hey Petunia...you dropped your man pad!

Everything has its pros and cons... I gave up remoteness for a middle ground, semi-rural so as to not be far from work (in town), nor too far from building supplies and big-box stores like Lowes... With the never-ending projects I have going on, I seem to need a trip to some kind of supply house twice a week... But I am in range of mutant zombie soccer moms with starving kids if the ball drops... Life is all about risks and what we want to accept.

But I am all about expedient MacGyver make-do's until it can be fixed right... And one's fixed right is often different than another persons fixed right... I tend to be the top-line, quality fixed right type of guy, which often means I do not have exactly what I need when I need it...

I have sacrificed many a gear buy for the household greater good.... LOL!

    My recent project...
