  • water sources and solar pumps

Try to get my water preps in line and need some advice.

I have a good well (255 feet deep, 20 foot to water level) with a submersible pump about 150 feet from the house, 30 feet from the road (in full view) and about 20 feet below the house. Thinking of a solar powered/battery pump (with a manual pump for back up) uphill to a 1000 gallon tank at the house. It is very expensive to run the power from the house to the well, but at least the solar panels would not be visible from the road.

    For a secondary water source:
I also have an uncapped spring about 700 feet behind and 90 feet below the house. It probably is producing 2 gal/minute of good water. Thinking of capping and sealing the spring, installing a spring box, 400 gallon cistern, and solar powered pump up to the house to a 1000 gallon tank. Then a dc solar pump into the house.
    .
I am trying to figure how to best spend my money. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
