    yee hah..
a week ago, I'm cutting grass and noticing that I've lost several recently planted fruit trees to the freezing weather...

proud to see a new tree that is still green, I duck my head and blast through... to get "whapped" in the head as I go by.
I returned to find that I'd been hit by a large plum. there were 3 of them. first fruit of the year..

then a few days later, my bride comes in with a double handful of blueberries.
    God is good... "second fruit"

and last night I found a few strawberries on the counter...

if I'd been eating long term storage food all winter, to have fresh fruit show up, would she be a pleasant event.

folks, I'm going to plant a few more of those plum trees... they are huge, about the size of a 50cent piece or bigger, and very tasty!
    get ya some!

Plums were our first fruits here also. From an older tree that was on the property. We didn't realize it was a plum till we look around this time of year and saw it loaded with ripening fruits. Bad inventory of available assets on my part I guess.

What?? You mean you don't have the fields guide to fruit trees memorized...and here I thought you were the "Ultimate Survivor"...jk...I wouldn't be able to tell a fruit tree from a regular tree (unless fruit was hanging on the tree). I bet it was a nice surprise when you discovered it!!
