  • mini tiller earthquake

last fall at a swap meet I traded a rifle for a pile of another man's stuff.
    including a mini tiller.

earthquake sold by lowe's with a "viper" engine. (made in cheena that's somewhere in florida I thinki)

this thing has a battery and electric start!! I charged it last fall and didn't use it..
per seller they had bought it about a year before the swap meet and never used it. I had to put it together.
this spring our wagons have been loaded. we are behind on everything.
I disked and then tilled the garden space with a compact tractor. but that was 6 or 7 weeks ago... we planted a few things, but the rest of garden had to wait.
we went out this weekend to add to the garden... ground was dry and "crusted over"
we could break it with a hoe, but ... time was short.
I remembered the little earthquake and tried it! battery still had a charge and it cranked on second turnover.
it sounds like a small chain saw. and dug furrow across garden as if it was a chainsaw.

this thing would not work on unbroken ground!.. times are too wimpy and spin too fast.

however it pulverized a nice furrow for our planting as fast as I could walk. the biggest problem was that it would dig a hole if I let it.

cut our planting time by a huge amount.
we planted some yellow squash and zucchini using "hills" the little tiller piled up dirt that was pulverized in no time!

folks, I have no idea how long this china made machine will last. I have no idea where to get parts. it was sold originally by lowe's
    but, I'm impressed so far.

I inherited a mantis mini tiller. I use it to cultivate between rows all the time. I agree these minis do save time and effort. By the way I believe mine is at least six years old and used regularly.
